Dr. Mouhanad Freih is a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist with over ten years of experience and a strong passion for Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Freih was one out of three Interventional Cardiologists who were instrumental in obtaining Becker’s Healthcare publication recognition for quality and outcomes for the Beebe Medical Center’s Cardiac-Cath lab in November 2014. As a result of his and his colleague’s efforts, Becker’s ranked Beebe among the 48 hospitals with the lowest 30-day heart attack mortality rates in the nation (as determined by data from Hospital Compare). Additionally under his leadership, Beebe was also recognized by Health Grade as Top 10 percent in the nation for Coronary Interventional Procedures for two years in a row (2017-2018).
Despite a challenging healthcare environment in private practice and working in a community hospital, Dr. Freih worked with the hospital administration and his Interventional and Surgical colleagues to push forward a number of new initiatives, including:
- Cardio Help Cardiac Assist Device
- Initiated the PERT (Pulmonary Embolus Response Team)
- Chronic Total Occlusion program
- Watchman Program
- Early adoption of the Radial Program
- TAVR Program
By adding these and other programs, this helped to keep Beebe Healthcare competitive or in a leadership position relative to the other surrounding medical institutions in the area.
Dr. Freih has always been a big believer in the mission of Beebe, and saw the great potential that the institution offers to the community. As such he has dedicated a lot of his time to achieve these goals by serving as Vice Chair and two-term Chairman of the Department of Cardiology, Director of the Cardiac Catherization Laboratory for Beebe HealthCare, the Chairman of the Cardiology Peer Review Committee, he also served as a Board Member of Beebe Medical Foundation and is on the Board of Directors for Beebe HealthCare.
As an Interventional Cardiologist with strong work ethics, he constantly demonstrates resourcefulness in finding and creating innovative solutions that support a full hospital team taking significant change initiatives, raising expectations while interfacing effectively with administrators, colleagues, and personnel at all levels.
Dr. Freih has received numerous accolades and awards for outstanding contributions to his profession. To mention but a few: Dr. Freih is the recipient of the Standard of Excellence Award from the Beebe Medical Center (2012); Outstanding Contribution Award, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (2012); Excellence in Research Award for the research study presented at The Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education research forum on May 24th, 2006, and Delaware Top Doctor 2019 and 2020 for Interventioal Cardiology.
